Pure From Evil is committed to sustainability and ethically producing garments. Everything is made by my own two hands, from pattern to final product. I prioritise quality over quantity, selecting all fabrications by hand. Although natural fibres are most favoured, often deadstock and found materials may contain synthetic fibres. The focus is not avoiding synthetic fibres after all, it is using what is already in circulation and redirecting it from inevitable landfill. Collected scraps are appropriately recycled or reused.
In my working pages, you can find information about how and why I sourced fabrications. Generally my designs are preconceived to the sourcing of the fabric, meaning intention is set when selecting how the garment will look in completion. This works for my practice, as I am not intending to produce for a ready to wear/ready made industry.
Pure From Evil is valued around a labour of intense care, research and exploration. For me, “fashion” is not as much a necessity, clothing the body as much as it is an art form. My process and thus the garments created reflect this ethos.
